No. 15 Trinity Valley men defeat Rangers, 82-66

KILGORE, TX -- The Trinity Valley Community College men's team improved to 5-1 in conference play Jan. 16 with a road win against Kilgore College, 82-66, in Masters Gymnasium.

The Rangers played catchup all night, trailing plus-or-minus about 10 points the entire game.

Trinity Valley's Tyson Jolly was held to eight points in the first half, but hit in a stride by scoring 28 points in the second stanza.

Jolly earned a double-double with 36 points and 10 rebounds.  He was 10-of-17 from the floor and 16-of-17 from the free throw line.

David Nickelberry was also in double figures for TVCC with 13 points.

KC showed its team depth with 31 of its points coming off the bench.

Demiere Brown led all KC players with 16 points and eight rebounds. Rodrigue Tha Andela and Darrian Grays each scored 14 points. Tha Andela earned a double-double by grabbing 11 boards.

With the loss, KC drops to 3-4 in Region XIV play and 12-6 overall.

Trinity Valley, ranked No. 15 in the NJCAA, improves to 17-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

KC will travel Saturday, Jan. 19, to play Panola College.  Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at Arthur Johnson gym in Carthage.
