NJCAA honors 16 Kilgore College student-athletes, two KC teams as Academic All-Americans

The National Junior College Athletic Association announced this week that Kilgore College has 16 student-athletes named to the NJCAA All-Academic Team and two KC teams have been honored as Academic Teams of the Year.

The two teams named All Academic Teams of the Year are the women’s basketball team with a 3.51 team GPA; and the men’s basketball team with a 3.43 team GPA.

NJCAA All-Academic First Team (4.0 GPA):

• Maya Scheitel-Taylor, Women’s Basketball
• Kelci Wilson, Women’s Basketball

NJCAA All-Academic Second Team (GPA 3.80 – 3.99):

• Jada Hood, Women’s Basketball
• Derrick Jackson Jr., Football
• Paul Otieno, Men’s Basketball

NJCAA All-Academic Third Team (GPA 3.60 – 3.79):

• Chimaobi Ezekwesilli, Men’s Basketball
• Vianey Galvan, Women’s Basketball
• Diego Gonzalez, Football
• Rahmena Henderson, Women’s Basketball
