BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Lady Rangers were ahead by as many as 31 points Feb. 18 in a conference game they ran away with against the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers, 81-57.
KC outscored BPCC 23-8 in the third quarter to build on its already solid lead.
The Lady Rangers finished the game with three players in double figures, led in scoring by freshman Richelle Velez with 18 points (5-of-16 from behind the three point line).
KC's Lyrik Williams earned a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Williams made 8-of-13 field goals.
Jade Thurmond, who didn't play in the second half, was also in double figures for KC with 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Mariana Witt had double-digit rebounds with 10 boards.
The Lady Cavaliers were led in scoring by Ashlyn Jones with 24 points. Samarius Colquitt was the only other Lady Cavalier in double figures with 11 points.
With the win, the Lady Rangers improve to 17-8 overall and 8-7 in conference play. BPCC drops to 8-18 overall and 5-12 in Region XIV play.
The Lady Rangers' next game is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at home versus Paris Junior College.
