Lady Rangers upend Coastal Bend College, 77-55

KILGORE, TX -- The Lady Rangers' Richelle Velez knocked down five three-pointers in the first half Feb. 4 en route to a 77-55 conference victory over Coastal Bend College.

Velez finished the game 6-of-9 from behind the three point line to earn 18 points.

KC's Lyrik Williams earned a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds and Jade Thurmon was also in double figures with 13 points.

Coastal Bend's leading scorer was Hadiya Norman with 14 points (4-of-9 from three-pointers) adn Aryanna Brown scored 10 points for the Cougars.

With the victory, the Lady Rangers improve their conference mark to 6-6 and are 14-7 overall.

Coastal Bend drops to 4-19 overall and 0-13 in Region XIV play.

The Lady Rangers are back in action 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at home versus Louisiana College.

The men will follow, facing Trinity Valley Community College, at 7:30 p.m. in Masters Gymnasium.
