Lady Rangers roll to 85-65 win against Coastal Bend

KILGORE, TX -- The Lady Rangers won their third-straight conference game Saturday with an 85-65 win over the Coastal Bend College Lady Cougars.

KC improves its record to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in Region XIV action.

The Lady Rangers built a 56-30 lead by halftime and kept the pressure on the Lady Cougars in the second half, forcing 21 turnovers in the game.

Rahmena Henderson, one of four players in double figures for the Lady Rangers, led all scorers with 20 points.  She added 12 rebounds to earn a double-double.

Jada Hood scored 19 points with six assists, two blocks and two steals.

Kerrighan Dunn scored 15 points (five rebounds) and Tara Green came off the bench to score 13 points with nine rebounds.

Other players scoring for KC were Vianey Galvan (8), Maya Scheitel-Taylor (4), Destinee Reyna (4) and Mckenzie Brown (2).

Coastal Bend (0-7, 0-3 Region XIV) had two players in double figures with Savanna Smith scoring 16 points and Cierra Zapata with 13.

The Lady Rangers are set to travel to Brenham Wednesday, Feb. 17, to face the Blinn College Lady Bucs (dependent on weather conditions).
