Lady Rangers out-dueled in second half, lose to TVCC 68-45

ATHENS, TX -- The Lady Rangers put up a valiant effort in the first half, going into hafltime tied up 26-26 against the NJCAA No. 2-ranked Trinity Valley Lady Cardinals, but the second half was a completely different story.

KC was outscored 19-4 in the third period, helping TVCC advance to its 19th-straight victory Feb. 6 in Cardinal Gymnasium.

TVCC scored 19 points on 19 KC turnovers and scored an impressive 42 of its 68 points in the paint.

Alisha Washington led all scorers for the Lady Cardinals with 24 points.  Maya Singleton posted a double-double for TVCC with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Christalah Lyons was also in double figures with 11 points.

For KC, Adrianna Edwards was the lone player in double figures with 13 points.  Lyrik Williams narrowly missed a double-double performance with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

With the loss, KC drops to 13-11 overall and 6-8 in conference play.

The Lady Rangers' next game is 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at home versus Bossier Parish Community College.
