Lady Rangers improve to 5-0 with victory over Crowder College

KILGORE, TX -- Richelle Velez scored 20 points in the first half of play as the Kilgore College Lady Rangers improved to 5-0 with a win over the Crowder College Roughriders, 77-61.

Velez ended up with 24 points (7-of-14) from beyond the three-point line.

Alicia Mardis once again proved valuable as a rebounder, grabbing an impressive18 boards and scoring 8 points.

KC's Jade Thurmon was also in double figures with 15 points, adding 8 rebounds.  Hennesey Handy scored 9 points for KC and had 6 rebounds.

The Lady Rangers' next game is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Kilgore versus their first conference opponent, San Jacinto College.

The game Nov. 18 versus Paul Quinn JV in Dallas has been canceled.
