JACKSONVILLE, TX -- Lady Rangers guard Lyrik Williams caught fire in the second half scoring 21 points, helping propel KC to an 82-77 victory Dec. 10 over Jacksonville College.
Williams was the game's high-scorer with 29 points. KC's Richelle Velez was once again a key component in the Lady Rangers' productivity with 19 points, 18 of which were from three-pointers.
KC had a 15-point lead several times in the game, but the Lady Jags kept scrapping their way back.
The Lady Jags got to within one point of KC with 3:15 left in the game when Velez banked a three-pointer to put the Lady Rangers up by 4 points.
KC's Jade Thurmon was also in double figures for KC with 14 points and Da'Jah Thompson had an impressive game on the boards with 12 rebounds.
With the win, the Lady Rangers improve to 11-1 overall and 3-1 in Region XIV play.
The Lady Rangers resume play Tuesday, Jan. 3, with a non-conference game versus Arkansas Baptist in Little Rock, Ark.
They will resume conference play with a 2 p.m. tipoff against Tyler Junior College on Saturday, Jan. 7, in Tyler.
