Lady Rangers hang on to defeat Bossier Parish, 91-81

KILGORE, TX -- The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers rallied the entire game Feb. 17 but the Kilgore College Lady Rangers were just too much, winning 91-81, in a conference matchup at Masters Gymnasium.

KC's Jade Thurmon led all scorers with 29 points.  She added eight rebounds and four assists.

Richelle Velez and Hennesey Handy were also in double figures for KC. Velez had 20 points (4-of-10 from the three point line) and Handy had 10 points, six assists and seven rebounds.

Alex Strawhorn and Tyra Cormier each scored eight points for the Lady Rangers.

BPCC was led in scoring by Ashlyn Jacobs with 23 points.  Jacobs was 5-of-7 from the three point line.  Monette Bolden scored 17 for the Lady Cavs, Brandy Harris scored 13 and Savannah Thomas scored 12.

Danielle Meador and Patience Odoko were huge on the boards for KC with nine rebounds each.

With the win, KC improves to16-9 overall and 10-6 in conference play.  BPCC drops to 9-18 overall and 5-12 in Region XIV play.

The Lady Rangers' next game is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Paris versus Paris Junior College.
