Lady Rangers end losing streak with 74-69 victory over Panola

KILGORE, TX -- The Lady Rangers got a much needed conference victory, ending a five-game losing streak, defeating the Panola College Fillies Jan. 23 at home, 74-69.

KC was without its leading scorer, freshman Lauren Carroll, but the Lady Rangers found a way to hold on to a 38-28 halftime lead to preserve the 5-point victory.

Panola chipped away at the KC halftime lead back-and-forth with KC several times. The game had 13 ties and 12 lead changes.

Dominique Thomas had a monster game for KC with 21 points and 20 rebounds.  Adrianna Edwards was also in double figures for KC with 16 points, four assists and three steals.

Both Aliyah Bernard and Shantrice Picking had eight points and seven rebounds.

Panola was led in scoring by Tyshelle Perry with 17 points.

With the win, the Lady Rangers improve to 11-9 overall and 5-6 in Region XIV play.

Their next game is 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, on the road against San Jacinto-North.
