Lady Rangers defeat third-place San Jacinto, 56-48

KILGORE, TX -- The Lady Rangers used an effective press defense to shut down a high-potent San Jacinto College-North Lady Gator offense, winning 56-48 in Masters Gymnasium Feb. 20.

The Lady Gators came into the game in third place in Region XIV with an 11-6 conference record.  With the win, the Lady Rangers even up their conference record at 9-9 (16-12 overall).

KC was led in scoring by Dominique Thomas who earned a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

Kilgore's Lyrik Williams also had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.  Williams also had six steals.

San Jacinto had one player in double figures with Kaelynn Wilson scoring 15 points.

The Lady Rangers' next game is 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at home versus Tyler Junior College.  The KC men will follow, also facing TJC, at 7:30 p.m. in Masters Gymnasium.
