KILGORE, TX -- There wasn't much doubt about the outcome of the Feb. 8 game between the Lady Rangers and Louisiana College JV with KC running away with a 99-43 victory.
KC's Richelle Velez set a school record by hitting 8 three-pointers (8-of-14 from behind the three point line). Velez also added two assists, three steals and three rebounds in the victory.
Freshman Jade Thurmon also scored 24 points for KC, knocking down 10-14 field goal attempts. Thurmon added six assists, three steals and three rebounds.
Lyrik Williams was also in double figures for KC with 14 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.
Louisiana College JV was led in scoring by T'Keyah Henson with 13 points.
With the win the Lady Rangers improve to 15-7 overall. They sit at 6-6 in conference play.
The Lady Rangers will resume conference play 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at home against Jacksonville College.
