Lady Rangers defeat Longview Elite by 70 points

KILGORE, TX -- It just wasn’t Longview Elite's night.  The Lady Rangers put up 88 points in a lopsided 70-point non-conference victory over Longview Elite, 88-18, in Masters Gymnasium Feb. 3.

KC had four players in double figures with Shantrice Picking leading all scorers with 18 points.  Lyrik Williams scored 17 points, Adrianna Edwards had 15 points and Kiera Tate added 13.

Longview Elite suffered from 37 turnovers resulting in 36 KC points.

The Lady Rangers shot 54 percent from the field (37-of-69), compared to Longview Elite that made 21 percent of its shots for the game (8-of-39).  They also only hit 7 percent of their free throws (1-of-14).

With the win, the Lady Rangers improve to 13-10 overall and 6-7 in Region XIV play.

Their next game is versus the No. 1-ranked Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cardinals at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in Athens.
