KILGORE, TX -- It was a double-header Ranger sweep March 13 as the Lady Rangers defeated Bossier Parish Community College, 79-73, and the Kilgore College men defeated Lamar State-Port Arthur College, 59-56.
LADY RANGERS 79, BPCC 73
The Lady Rangers ended a three-game losing streak in tough road matchups with a win over BPCC, 79-73.
The come-from-behind win puts the Lady Rangers at 5-6 in Region XIV and 6-9 overall.
Bossier Parish is still winless in conference games at 0-8.
Vianey Galvan lit up the scoreboard with a season-high 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Jada Hood was also in double figures with 20 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Kerrighan Dunn came off the bench to score 10 points andTara Green had a big game on the boards with 12 rebounds.
BPCC had three players in double figures with Ma'Kaila Lewis (21), Brianna Green (14) and Faith Robinson (10).
The Lady Rangers travel to Coastal Bend College in Beeville Wednesday, March 17, for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
RANGERS 59, LAMAR STATE-PA 56
In a game that saw 10 lead changes, the KC men came out on top, defeating Lamar State College-Port Arthur, 59-56.
KC Jenkins hit a three-pointer late in the game to take a one-point lead that the Rangers never gave up.
Jenkins ended up with 19 points, two steals and two rebounds.
Da'Sean Nelson was also in double figures for KC with 12 points, earning a double-double with 15 rebounds.
Dantwan Grimes and Paul Otieno each scored seven points with Grimes grabbing five rebounds and Otieno earning a double-double by adding 11 rebounds.
Lamar State was led in scoring by Kanntrell Burney with 20 points. Joe Lucien had 14 points and Kobi Johnson had 10 for the Seahawks.
The KC men travel Wednesday, March 17, to Corsicana to face Navarro College at 7 p.m.
