Lady Rangers defeat Angelina College, 78-69

KILGORE, TX -- Kilgore College's Jade Thurmon posted 32 points in a huge conference victory for the Lady Rangers Jan. 21 over Angelina College, 78-69.

KC's Richelle Velez was also in double figures for KC with 18 points (4-of-12 from behind the three point line).  Danielle Meador had a huge game on the boards, grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring 8 points.

Tori Thompson was also in double figures for KC with 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Angelina College was led in scoring by Kennethan Harden with 21 points and Tyana Barlow with 14 points.

KC led by as many as 21 points in the contest but still struggled from the free throw line (21-of-39).  Angelina College was 7-of-10 from the charity stripe.

With the win, KC improves to 13-5 overall and 5-4 in NJCAA Region XIV play.  Angelina drops to 11-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

The Lady Rangers' next game is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at home versus Trinity Valley Community College.
