Lady Rangers can't survive San Jac 3-point attack, lose 80-69

HOUSTON, TX - The Lady Rangers started the game down 12-2 on a quick San Jacinto Gator run and were never able to overcome a potent 3-point attack by the Lady Gators, losing on the road, 80-69.

San Jacinto-North hit 11-of-24 three point attempts and were 8-of-12 from the free throw line.

Kilgore didn't have any trouble getting to the free throw line, but the Lady Rangers once again struggled from beyond the charity stripe, making only 15 free throws out of 29 attempts (52 percent).

KC's Lyric Williams posted a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds.  Freshman Lauren Carroll was also in double figures with 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Adrianna Edwards was also in double figures for KC with 17 points.

The Lady Gators had three players in double figures with Ariona Gill scoring 18 points, Kaelynn Wilson with 17 and Vanessa Jones with 14.

With the loss, KC drops to 11-10 overall and 5-7 in conference play.

The Lady Rangers' next game is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Tyler Junior College.
