Lady Jaguars hand KC its first conference loss, 83-59

KILGORE, TX -- Jacksonville College's Florence Sifa sank 17-of-23 field goals for 37 points Dec. 8 as the Lady Jaguars handed the Kilgore College Lady Rangers their first conference loss, 83-59.

Sifa also earned a double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds.

Jacksonville quickly escalated its 13-point halftime lead by making 55 percent of its shots in the second half.

KC's Jade Thurmon and Richelle Velez were the only Lady Rangers in double figures with 18 and 13 points, respectively.

The Lady Rangers were 3-of-21 from behind the three point line (14 percent).

Allyson hinds came off the bench for the Lady Jags to score 14 points and Kristian James scored 13 for JC.

Claudia Del Moral was also in double figures for JC with 10 points.

With the loss, the Lady Rangers drop to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in Region XIV play.

Jacksonville improves to 8-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The Lady Rangers' next game is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Bossier Parish Community College Classic in a non-conference matchup with Baton Rouge Community College.
