No.1 NMMI slips past No. 5 Kilgore, 31-24

No. 1 New Mexico Military Institute scored 28 points in the second half to rally for a 31-24 win over No. 5 Kilgore Sept. 17 at Longview's Lobo Stadium.

The Broncos scored late in the game with two long 61-yard TD passes, one with two minutes left that tied the game up at 24 with 1:48 left -- and another that put the game away with 41 seconds left in the contest.

With the win, the No.1-ranked Broncos move to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Southwestern Junior College Football Conference. Read LN-J game story

The Rangers will travel Saturday, Sept. 24, to face Navarro College in Corsicana. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. If you cannot make it to Corsicana, the game will be streamed live here.


The Rangers will be back at home Oct. 1 to play Cisco College, 3 p.m. at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium in Kilgore.

The game is part of Hall of Fame weekend, the annual event that celeebrates former coaches, players and contributors with inductions to the school's hall of fame.
