KC wraps up regular season championship with win over TJC

KILGORE, TX -- The Kilgore College Rangers put an exclamation mark on the end of the regular season with a 49-17 win over Tyler Junior College to win the regular season championship and assure KC (7-2, 5-2) homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College also finished 5-2, but the Rangers' head-to-head win over the Golden Norsemen allow KC to claim the regular season title.

KC will play Navarro College in round one of the playoffs 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.  Playoff seeding for the SWFCFC: 1) Kilgore 2) NEO 3) Blinn and 4) Navarro.

Kilgore College will sell tickets Thursday on the Kilgore campus from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. for Saturday’s first-round Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) playoff game against Navarro College.

The one-day-only ticket presale will take place in the KC Athletic Office, located in the Student Support Building.

All playoff tickets are $10 and all seats are general admission.

Tickets on sale Thursday will be sold in-person only.  No online or phone orders are available.

Also, no tickets will be sold on Friday.

Tickets on the day of the game will be sold at the gate for $10 beginning at 1:30 p.m.

KC employees and KC students (plus one guest) will get into the game free with proper KC identification.

The game will feature No. 1 seed KC vs. No. 4 seed Navarro College, set for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

The Rangers finished the regular season Oct. 27 with a 49-17 win over Tyler Junior College to claim the regular season championship with a 7-2 overall and 5-2 SWJCFC record.
