Kilgore College will offer a new Nursing/Transition Program beginning this spring semester for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) who wish to become Registered Nurses (RNs).
The program will also offer classes for paramedics who wish to become RNs.
Classes will be offered face-to-face and online.
Applicants must have an unencumbered LVN license or paramedic license and must have practiced as an LVN or paramedic for at least one year.
In addition to regular college admission requirements, prospective students must submit a transition nursing application and be accepted to the program by the Admission/Progression Committee at KC.
Students who complete the required courses will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree.
The graduate is then eligible to take the licensing examination for Registered Nurses given by the National Council of States Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
Registration is underway at KC for the spring semester that begins Jan. 14.
