KC survives first round by defeating Bossier Parish, 62-58

JACKSONVILLE, TX -- The Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers went ahead for the first time with 6:30 left in the game but the Kilgore College Rangers went on a 10-1 run to maintain its control of the Cavaliers.

KC ended (17-12) held on to defeat the Cavaliers, 62-58, in the first round of the Region XIV playoffs March 6 at Jacksonville's John Alexander Gymnasium.

Kilgore was led in scoring by Chad Bowie with 17 points.  Demiere Brown was also in double figures for KC with 10 points.

BPCC had three players in double figures with Brandon Moore and Tim Collins leading the way with 16 points each and Mubarak Muhammed scoring 10.

The Rangers (No. 9 seed) will face Trinity Valley Community College in a semifinal matchup 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8.
