LUFKIN, TX -- Kilgore College's Mattie McQuary threw a shutout May 1 in the first game against Angelina College, but the Rangers' rally fell short in the second game. KC sits at 21-13 overall and 11-15 in conference play. The Rangers have two more regular season games left set for 1 and 3 p.m. Friday, May 3, in Athens versus Trinity Valley Community College.

Mattie McQuary didn't allow a single run as KC defeated Angelina College 2-0 in the first game of a doubleheader May 1.
McQuary allowed just three hits, while striking out three batters.
The Rangers fired up the offense in the second inning when Christina Herrera singled on a 0-2 count, scoring Nicole King.
Brooke Goynes follwed that up with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Makenna Bell.
McQuary took the win for KC, surrendering zero runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero.
Mixon took the loss for Angelina, allowing six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out six.
Makenna Bell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead KC in hits.

MaKenna Fryar was credited with the victory for Angelina College May 1, defeating KC, 4-1.
She surrendered one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.
Amanda White was in the circle for KC, pitching six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out three.
Nicole King, Brooke Goynes, Makenna Bell, and Kelsey Ahart each collected one hit for KC.
Angelina College had eight hits in the game with Nikki Whitehead going 3-for-4 at the plate to lead AC.
KC's only run came in the seventh inning when Bell doubled, scoring Ahart.
