KC slips past Cedar Valley with buzzer-beater

TYLER, TX --  The Kilgore College men trailed Cedar Valley Community College the entire game -- by as many as 15 points at one time -- but KC's Demiere Brown hit an uncontested three-pointer with 1 second left on the clock to give the Rangers a 70-69 win Nov. 17 over the Suns at Tyler Junior College in the final game of the Ranger Classic.

Brown ended up with 13 points and grabbed an impressive 16 rebounds to earn a double-double.

Darrian Grays came off the bench to propel the KC offense in the second half, hitting 4-of-10 three-pointers to cut into the Cedar Valley lead.  Grays scored 18 points in the KC victory.

KC's Michael Asante led all Rangers in scoring with 24 points.

After going into halftime down 33-24, KC outscored the Suns 46-36 in the second half.

Cedar Valley's Larry Rusk led all scorers with 27 points.

With the win, KC improves to 5-2 on the season.

KC's next game is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at home versus Southern Arkansas University Tech.
