Kilgore College has received the final report from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) following allegations of asbestos violations in the fall of 2014.
The TCEQ Environmental Investigator stated that there would be no mention of asbestos in this report since there was no evidence of asbestos violations on or off campus.
The report lists only those items that were found in violation. None of the violations have triggered any fines. There were a total of five alleged violations, four of which have been resolved according to the report.
The one item that is unresolved (trash pile at the driving/firing/fire academy facility) has been delayed by the bad weather, but it is in progress and will easily be completed prior to the deadline.
He considered the five noted violations to be issues that either have been resolved or could easily be resolved, involving labeling, storage, disposal and identification of materials.
