KILGORE, TX -- The KC men's and women's basketball teams swept the East Texas Flight men's and women's teams Nov. 29, both by big margins.
LADY RANGERS VS. EAST TEXAS FLIGHT:
The Lady Rangers opened up the double header with a 92-27 victory over the Flight, and the men defeated the men's Flight team 92-22.
The KC women had five players in double figures with Destiny Climpson leading the way with 18 points. Â Adrianna Edwards scored 16 and Darreion Clark and Crystal Nero each had 14. Â Imaobong Akpan was the other Lady Ranger in double figures with 10 points.
Pre'Franz Dominick was impressive, also, with 8 points and 7 rebounds.
The Flight had two players in double figures with Rotasha Hart scoring 10 points and Jasmine Hayter with 14.
With the win, the Lady Rangers improve to 3-5 overall. They are 1-1 in Region XIV play.
The KC women travel Wednesday, Dec. 3, to play Blinn College in Brenham. Â Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
RANGERS VS. EAST TEXAS FLIGHT:
The Rangers led 48-8 at halftime and continued to put the heat on the East Texas Flight in the second half en route to a 92-22 victory Nov. 29 at Masters Gymnasium.
Jordan Smart led all KC players with 17 points, followed by Alassane Kah with 14, Bakari Copeland with 11 and Shaq Keith with 10.
Myron Chapman had a good game defensively with 8 rebounds and three steals. Chapman also scored 8 points for the Rangers.  Quantez Brown and Larry Beckett also scored 8 points each for KC.
Longview's Skylar Thurmond was the high-scorer for the Flight with 10 points.
With the win, the Rangers improve to 8-2 overall. Â They are 2-0 in conference play.
The KC men travel Wednesday, Dec. 3, to play Lamar State College in Port Arthur. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
