After a tough overtime loss in Lufkin last weekend, the Kilgore College men's basketball team will play two non-conference games during Thanksgiving week before resuming conference play.
KC will play non-conference opponents Grayson College 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, and Creating Young Minds (CYM) 4 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be in Masters Gymnasium.
The Rangers (6-2, 0-1) are coming off a narrow loss in overtime to Angelina College, 78-75, at Shands Gymnasium.
AC's Travis Henson’s blocked a Rangers’ shot with 20 seconds to play in overtime to preserve the Roadrunners’ win in both teams' conference-opener.
Draylon Brown made two free throws with 13 seconds left in overtime, and AC (2-5, 1-0) sealed the win with a steal in the paint as the clock expired.
Cameron Gooden led the Rangers with 22 points. Rodrigue Andela earned a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Tyron McMillian and Michael Thomas were also in double figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Henson led the Roadrunners with 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
KC will resume conference play Wednesday, Dec. 4, versus Coastal Bend College at 5:30 p.m. in Masters Gymnasium.
