BOSSIER CITY, LA -- The Kilgore College men overcame a sloppy start to earn a much-needed conference road victory, 63-54, over Bossier Parish Community College Jan. 13.
Both teams struggled to make baskets from the field, KC making 42 percent of its shots -- BPCC only hit 29 percent of its shots.
The game was back-and-forth most of the first half with BPCC going into halftime up four points, 29-25.
KC made up for the four-point deficit and hung on to make a strong effort at the end of the game to get the win.
Kilgore was led in scoring by Jaleel Wheeler with 20 points. Ndene Gueye earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Cheik Dialo was also in double figures with 10 points.
Antonio Moore added 7 points and 10 rebounds.
With the win, KC improves to 13-5 overall and 3-5 in Region XIV play.
The Rangers' next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at home versus Trinity Valley Community College who is ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA.
