KC men defeat Navarro on the road, 69-53

CORSICANA, TX -- After trailing by a point at halftime, Kilgore College stepped up its offense and shut down Navarro College in the final minutes of the game to defeat the Bulldogs, 69-53.

The win gives KC (16-11, 8-10 Region XIV) its third-straight victory heading into the final game of the regular season Saturday (March 3) at home versus Trinity Valley Community College.

KC went ahead of Navarro (17-11, 8-10 Region XIV) by double digits, 61-51, on a Malachi Davidson layup with 2:22 left in the game.

The Rangers held Navarro to two points in the final three minutes of the game.

Davidson led KC in scoring with 15 points and Chad Bowie scored 13 points (11-of-12 from the free throw line).

Two other players for KC were in double figures with Demiere Brown and Daytone Jennings scoring 10 points each.

KC has qualified to participate in the Region XIV Men's Basketball Tournament which begins March 6 in Jacksonville.
