KILGORE, TX -- Bossier Parish made a furious comeback from a 17-point Kilgore College lead but came up short, losing Jan. 25 to the Rangers, 77-73.
The win snaps a two-game KC losing streak and improves the Rangers' conference record to 3-6 and 12-7 overall. Bossier Parish drops to 3-7 in NJCAA Region XIV play and 7-14 overall.
Bossier Parish got to within one point of KC with just over a minute left but the Rangers' defense stepped up to hold on for the victory.
KC was led in scoring once again by Ndene Gueye with 23 points. Gueye also added 8 rebounds, two blocks and one steal.
Davon Newton and Tre Evans were also in double figures for KC with 16 points each.
Bossier Parish's Lasani Johnson led all scorers with 24 points.
KC's next game is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Paris Junior College.
