KILGORE, TX -- The Kilgore College men began conference play Nov. 29 with authority, handily defeating the Angelina College Roadrunners, 86-52, in both teams' Region XIV opener.
KC shot an impressive 59 percent from the field (64 percent in the second half) and scored 50 of its points under the basket.
The Rangers had five players in double figures with Chad Bowie as the leading scorer with 21 points (9-of-12).
Demeire Brown scored a season-high 18 points and didn't miss a shot from the field, only missingĀ one free throw.
KC's Malachi Davidson, Davon Newton and Daytone Jennings each scored 10 points.
The Rangers forced 22 Angelina turnovers and only turned the ball over eight times in the contest.
Angelina had one player in double figures, Nylek Cobb, with 13 points. Ā
KC improves to 8-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
Angelina drops to 7-3 overall and 0-1 in Region XIV play.
The Rangers' next game is on the road against Jacksonville College Saturday, Dec. 2, with a 4 p.m. tipoff.
