KC men beat CYM Academy, 90-83

KILGORE, TX -- Creating Young Minds (CYM) Academy put on a three-point exhibition for all of the first half and most of the second half, but fortunately for Kilgore College, their long-range luck ran out and were defeated by the Rangers, 90-83.

For the second-straight game, KC (8-2, 0-1) rallied from a halftime deficit (44-40) to defeat a non-conference opponent.

The Rangers trailed by as many as 13 points, but benefitted from 36 bench points in the victory.

Leading scorer was CYM's Mike Lenoir with 34 points, knocking down an impressive eight three-pointers (8-of-15).  Lenoir also had eight assists, five rebounds and one steal.

Balsa Bazovic also turned in an impressive effort by making 6-of-11 three-pointers, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks before fouling out late in the game.

KC was led in scoring by D'Rell Roberts and Cameron Gooden, scoring 17 points each.

Five other players were in double figures for KC, with Jeremy Lefort, Rodrigue Andela, Michael Thomas, Assane Ndiaye and Stephan Morris all scoring 10 points.

Lefort earned a double-double by adding 12 rebounds.

KC will resume conference play Wednesday, Dec. 4, as they face Coastal Bend College at 5:30 p.m. in Masters Gymnasium.  The Lady Rangers will follow, playing Angelina College at 7:30 p.m.
