KC defeats Cisco on the road to move to 3-1 in conference play

CISCO, TX -- The Kilgore College defense only allowed 30 yards on 32 Cisco College rushing attempts en route to a 48-14 victory over Cisco College.  The Ranger offense was also firing on all cylinders with QB Averion Hurts completing 33-of-46 passes for 340 yards and four touchdowns.

KC's other quarterback, Javelle Allen, was unable to play due to a minor injury.

KC ran 81 plays and racked up 468 total yards of offense in part to an impressive game by wide receiver Dequann Ruffin who hauled in eight passes for 119 yards and a touchdown.  Ruffin was one of 10 KC receivers who had receptions in the game.  Ranger running backs Corey Davis and Eddie Smith combined for 128 yards on 35 carries.  Smith scored twice and Davis scored once -- all on short runs.

The Rangers fumbled twice in the contest but recovered both.  Cisco fumbled four times, losing two, recovered by Ricci Simmons and J'Marcus Rhodes.  Cisco was only 4-of-14 on third down attempts and was held to 236 yards on 62 plays.

Hurts' touchdown passes were to Patrick Brown (twice), Dequann Ruffin and Fonzale Davis. The KC defense had two interceptions, one by Dante Lovilotte that set up a Ranger touchdown, and another by Jarrell Sikes with two seconds left in the game.

With the win, KC improves to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in SWJCFC play.  KC will host Blinn Oct. 18.
