KILGORE, TX -- Despite a three-point halftime deficit he Kilgore College men's basketball team outscored the Cedar Valley College Suns 53-31 in the second half to win, 86-67, in the final day of the Ranger Classic Nov. 16 in Masters Gymnasium.
Cedar Valley hit a long three-pointer to take the lead just before halftime, but KC (5-1) stepped its game up in the second half to tire the Suns out.
Leading scorer for KC was Rodrigue Andela with 18 points and eight rebounds. D'Rell Roberts scored 16 points and Cameron Gooden scored 14 points.
Jeremy LeFort came off the bench to score 8 points and grab 10 rebounds.
Rounding out the scoring for KC was Justin Davis and Michael Thomas with 7 points each, Tyron McMillian and Stephan Morris with 6 points each and Tysen Banks and Assane Ndiaye each with 2 points.
Leading scorer for Cedar Valley was Larry Rusk, Jr. with 16 points. Kameron Fitzpatrick and Antwonie Betters each scored 10 points for the Suns (3-1).
KC's next game is at Grayson College on Thursday, Nov. 21, in Sherman to face Grayson College. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
