KILGORE, TX -- Angelina College rallied to overcome a 15-point Kilgore College lead in the second half to take the game into overtime in the Region XIV conference-opener Nov. 28 at Masters Gymnasium.
KC showed its team depth in the overtime period, defeating the Roadrunners, 70-63.
For KC, 34 of its 70 points were from players who did not start the contest.
The Rangers led the game until five minutes left in the contest when Angelina's Deon'ta Lagway nailed a three-pointer to give the Roadrunners a 57-54 advantage.
The lead changed five more times throughout the game.
Lagway came off the bench to score 9 points and grab 7 rebounds.
KC's offense was spurred by guards Jordyn Owens with 19 points and Darrian Grays with 18 points.
Rodrigue Tha Andela scored 8 points for the Rangers and had 11 rebounds.
The Roadrunners were led by Da'Vaughn Gauno with 16 points and Ovido Perez with 14 points.
Both teams struggled from the three-point line. KC was 2-of-17 and Angelina was 3-of-23 from beyond the arc.
KC will travel Saturday, Dec. 1, to Beeville to face Coastal Bend College. Tipoff from the Peter S. Marecek Physical Fitness Center is set for 3 p.m.
Coastal Bend is 3-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Cougars lost their opening conference game, 93-79, to Trinity Valley Community College Nov. 28 in Athens.
