KILGORE, TX -- The Jacksonville women -- playing for pride after already being eliminated from the postseason -- knocked down 10-of-17 three-point attempts in a defeat of the Lady Rangers, 83-77, in the final regular season game.
Kilgore trailed most of the first half and struggled once again with making free throws (16-of-26 in the second half).
Jacksonville's Brianna Perry led all scorers with 23 points. Samantha Weir was also in double figures for the Lady Jaguars with a double-double performance, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
KC's Lyrik Williams led the Lady Rangers with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Kiera Tate and Dominique Thomas each had 16 points with Thomas earning a double-double, adding 10 rebounds.
Adrianna Edwards also earned a double-double for KC with 11 points and 10 boards.
With the loss, KC drops to 16-14 overall and 9-11 in Region XIV play.
The Lady Rangers will be the No. 7 seed and will play Blinn College (No. 2 seed) in the first round of the regional tournament on Wednesday, March 2, at Angelina College in Lufkin.
