Kilgore College will play host to double-header basketball action Saturday, Jan. 25, as the Lady Rangers will face the Jacksonville College Lady Jaguars at 2 p.m. followed by the No. 20 KC men around 4 p.m. verus the No. 4 Tyler Junior College Apaches.
Lady Rangers vs. Jacksonville
The Lady Rangers (15-5, 4-4) are coming off a road victory Wednesday against Bossier Parish Community College, 79-51.
Sarah Matthews led the way offensively for KC with 21 points against BPCC.
Jada Hood scored 19 points for KC with Alba Garcia Camarena scoring 10 -- earning a double-double by adding 11 rebounds.
The women will play host to Jacksonville College (4-14, 3-5 Region XIV)Â at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, in Masters Gymnasium.
KC Men vs, TJC
The No. 20 KC men, coming off a narrow loss on the road Wednesday to Bossier Parish Community College, will look to rebound against TJC, but it will be no easy task.Â
TJC, undefeated (17-0) and ranked No. 4 in the nation, defeated in Paris Junior College Wednesday, 89-65.
Both the Apaches and the Rangers (16-4, 7-3 Region XIV) have impressive long-range offenses, with TJC ranked first in the nation in 3-point percentage (41.2 percent) while KC is ranked fifth nationally in the long ball percentage (36.1 percent).
Overall field goal percentages for the two teams are similar, too, with TJC ranked first in the nation with an overall FG percentage of 51.9 percent while the Rangers are ranked second in the NJCAA with a 51.8 FG percentage.
Both teams don't allow many points either, with TJC allowing only 66.6 points per game (best in the NJCAA) and KC allowing 69.8 points per game (third-best in the NJCAA).
KC and TJC are set for a 4 p.m. tipoff on Saturday, Jan. 25, in Masters Gymnasium.
