Coastal Bend upsets Rangers in first round, 58-52

JACKSONVILLE, TX -- The Rangers just couldn't get their game in sync and suffered a first-round loss to Coastal Bend College, 58-52, March 3, ending their season with a 20-10 record.

Coastal Bend held KC to two players in double figures with Shaq Keith scoring 16 and Jonathan Milligan with 10.

Coastal Bend's Tramonte Stewart led all scorers with 19 points.  Taylor Johnston came off the bench for the Cougars to score 13.

The Cougars will advance to face Navarro College 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5.

 

About the tournament:

Because of scheduling conflicts at UT Tyler, the Region XIV Basketball Tournament has been moved to Jacksonville.  

All games will be played in the JISD Gymnasium (previously known as the Vivian and Bob Smith Arena at what used to be Lon Morris College).

The tournament will run fromTuesday March 4 through Saturday March 7 and will follow the same format as last year’s tournament.
