ATHENS, TX -- The Trinity Valley men lived up to their No. 1 national ranking with a 94-71 defeat of the Kilgore College Rangers in Cardinal Gymnasium Feb. 6.
KC just couldn't find the answer to stop the potent TVCC offense en route to the Cardinals' 19th-straight win. The Cardinals are now a perfect 14-0 in conference play.
The Rangers held TVCC to 48 percent shooting for the game, but KC also turned the ball over 18 times resulting in 19 Cardinal points.
TVCC was led in scoring by Hyron Edwards with 18 points. Five other Cardinals were in double figures, also.
Kilgore was led in scoring by the game's leading scorer, Greg Session, with 19 points (16 points in the second half).
Three other players were in double figures for KC with Alassane Kah scoring 13 points, Antonio Moore wth 12 and Jaleel Wheeler with 11 points.
With the loss, KC drops to 15-9 overall and 5-9 in conference play.
The Rangers' next game is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at home versus Bossier Parish Community College.
