Blinn outlasts KC men, wins 70-68

KILGORE, TX -- Despite Ndene Gueye's 30 points and 14 rebounds, the KC men once again found themselves on the losing end of the scoreboard, 70-68, dropping a conference matchup Jan. 23 to the Blinn College Buccaneers.

KC, down by three points with 12 seconds to play was fouled behind the three point line.  Tre Evans hit two of three free throws to get within one point and quickly fouled a Blinn College player who hit one of two free throws with four seconds left to preserve a two-point Region XIV Buccaneer win.

Tied up at halftime, 33-33, the Buccaneers and Rangers traded leads 17 times in the contest .

Blinn had three players in double figures with James Harrison scoring 16 points and Juwan Green and Kobe Wrice each scoring 13 points.

With the win, Blinn improves to 12-6 overall and 3-5 in NJCAA Region XIV play.  KC drops to 11-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

KC's next game is part of a home doubleheader with tipoff at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, versus Bossier Parish Community College.

The Lady Rangers will open up the evening at 5:30 p.m. versus Trinity Valley Community College.
