Blinn nips Lady Rangers in back-and-forth game, 61-60

KILGORE, TX -- In a game that had 14 ties and 14 lead changes, the Blinn College Lady Bucs slipped past the Kilgore College Lady Rangers 61-60.

Down 61-58, KC's Destiny Climpson hit a shot at the buzzer that most fans thought was a three-pointer to the game up, but her toe was on the line, only counting as two points to give KC the one-point loss.

KC players Imaobong Akpan and Pre'Franz Dominick had impressive games, both with double-doubles.

Akpan was the game's leading scorer with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Adrianna Edwards was the second-highest scorer for KC with 15 points. Dominick scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds. 

Blinn was paced by Katelynn Johnson who scored 19 points.  Nancy Warioba was also in double figures for Blinn with 10 points.

With the loss, the Lady Rangers drop to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in Region XIV play.  Blinn improves to 11-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

The Lady Rangers play another home game Saturday, Jan. 10, against Jacksonville College.  Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
