Anonymous $1 million gift received by KC Foundation to ensure lasting legacy of Rangerette organization

The Kilgore College Foundation recently received an anonymous gift of $1 million to complete a permanent operating endowment fund for the world-famous Rangerettes organization.

Prior to his death in 2007, Mike Miller (KC alum and ardent supporter of KC) had the vision of creating this endowment fund for the Rangerettes.

While the Rangerettes have about 90 endowed scholarships with nine additional scholarships seeking endowment, this fund will serve to support operations and travel expenses for the highly sought after dance/drill team.

Remembering the college and the Rangerettes in his will, Miller’s estate began contributing to the Mike Miller Rangerette Fund with the proviso that such contributions would be specifically earmarked for the Rangerettes until the endowment reached $1 million.

Fast forward to 2019, when a KC graduate and his wife, a former Rangerette – who prefer to remain anonymous – made Miller’s dream a reality.
