Barber Program

Preparation to become a licensed Class “A” Barber

Begin a career as a Barber by taking classes at Kilgore College-Longview. Barber instruction will qualify you to take the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) examination. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be a licensed Class “A” Barber.

What is the class schedule?

  • Classes meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5 to 9 p.m. and on various Saturdays throughout the 18 months. Saturday hours will be 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Barbering classes begin on a rotating basis: Fall 2021, Summer 2022 and require four semesters to complete.

Cost of program:

  • In-District: $3,795
  • Out-of-District: $6,797
  • Books & Supplies: $1,170
