General Education Requirements. Transfer.

About the classes:

Kilgore College offers general education requirements, drama, philosophy, psychology and speech necessary to apply to a university offering bachelor programs in speech, speech education and business communications.

“Good grades and technical skills are important, of course, but they are not as highly prized as oral communication skills. You can be brilliant in your field, but if you can’t communicate successfully with co-workers and the public, your brilliance is wasted,” says Marilyn Makes, executive director of the National Association of Colleges and Employers.

The speech communications department at Kilgore College offers several courses designed to help students (1) learn effective oral communication skills, (2) meet the graduation requirement for a speech course, and (3) fulfill the Texas Core Curriculum speech requirement.
