Psychology

General Education Requirements. Transfer.

About Psychology:

Psychology is both an applied and academic field that studies the human mind and behavior. Research in psychology seeks to understand and explain how we think, act and feel. A large part of psychology is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues. But in addition to mental health, psychology can be applied to a variety of issues that impact health and daily life including performance enhancement, self-help, ergonomics, motivation, productivity, and much more. The ultimate aim of studying psychology is to benefit society as a whole.

Courses help complete the Core Curriculum:

Kilgore College offers courses in psychology that are necessary to complete the Core Curriculum requirements for an Associate's Degree or to transfer to a university offering bachelor programs in psychology and other behavioral sciences. These courses are guaranteed to transfer to any public college or university in Texas. They also transfer to most private schools; however, students should check with receiving institution to verify transfer eligibility. In addition, these courses also serve as an exciting introduction to a field of study in psychology.
