About the program:
Kilgore College's three choral ensembles offer singers excellent experiences in the choral art.
- The Kilgore College Chorale is the principal choral ensemble at Kilgore College and is open to both music majors and non-music majors who by audition can demonstrate the ability to sing in tune and to make a contribution to a college-level chorus. MORE INFO
- Camerata Singers is a select women’s choral ensemble that sings madrigals, motets, folk arrangements, jazz songs, pop music and other literature of a challenging nature. It is comprised of KC Chorale women and other singers whose schedules simply do not permit Chorale; through audition these students demonstrate excellence in intonation and musicianship. The group performs throughout the community and at KC Chorale concerts.
- The East Texas Community Chorus is a civic chorus for area choral enthusiasts from high school through adult, meeting every Monday night from 7-9 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in downtown Longview. The ETCC seeks to enrich the culture of the Longview community with the beauty of great choral and choral/orchestral music, and to provide choral singers a vehicle for growth and inspiration. Repertoire ranges from classical masterpieces to lighthearted selections. Members can pay a nominal fee through KC Continuing Education, registering at the rehearsal or the chorus can be taken for credit by registering through the college as a class. Each spring semester ends with the Spring Masterworks Concert in which the KC Chorale and the ETCC combine to form a mass choir, accompanied by orchestra.
