About the program:
Be on the front lines of saving lives with an Emergency Medical Services Professions Certificate from Kilgore College. As first responders to accidents and disasters, EMTs keep people alive until they are transported to a hospital. Kilgore's Emergency Medical Services Professions Program prepares students for diverse careers in the medical field. The program teaches you many life saving skills, required for the fast-advancing world of EMS (Emergency Medical Services). The graduates work at numerous fire departments, private EMS services and hospitals. The student has the choice of completing a certificate or a degree.
Academic Credit for EMS Certifications:
The Emergency Medical Services Professions Program consists of two certificates and an associate of applied science degree. If an individual has EMT certification from either the National Registry or Texas Department of State Health Services, that individual will be granted credit hours for the classes in the EMT Certificate.
If an individual has Paramedic certification from either the National Registry or Texas Department of State Health Services, that individual will be granted credit hours for the classes in the Paramedic Certificate.
In both cases, the classes on the student’s transcript will show a CR for the grade.
