Kilgore College opened its Health Science Center for the Fall 2014 semester, housing four health science programs under one roof for the first time in college history: Associate Degree of Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant and Radiologic Science.

Located in a previously unused portion of Laird Memorial Hospital just adjacent to the Kilgore campus on Highway 259, KC is leasing a portion of the hospital that has been vacant for about nine years for the new Health Science Center.

Crews worked eight months on the $1.5 million renovation that houses 16 state-of-the art classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices and student lounges.

Students receive simulated on-the-job training since they are training in what was once a functioning hospital.

The renovated portion of the hospital being leased by the college accounts for about 30,000 square feet  which is a 12,000 square-foot increase from its previous location on campus.

From I-20/Longview, TX, area/North of Kilgore:

  • Take Hwy 259 Business South - toward Kilgore (travel approximately 4 miles).
  • Turn left on to Dudley Road/FM1249 (red light at this intersection).
  • Turn right into the second driveway – use “Student Parking" immediately on right.
  • (The entrance is shared with East Texas Treatment Center, located at 1200 Dudley Road, Kilgore, TX)
  • HSC Main Entrance – (Walk under WHITE metal covered awning; use Main Entrance – 1st door on right).

From Henderson, TX, area/South of Kilgore:

  • Take Hwy 259 North – toward Kilgore.
  • As you come up to the Loop around Kilgore, go straight on to Hwy 259 Business.
  • Travel another 2.5 miles on Hwy 259 Business into Kilgore.
  • Turn Right on to Dudley Rd/FM 1249 (red light at this intersection)
  • Turn right into the 2nd driveway – use “Student” parking; immediately on right. (KC entrance is shared with East Texas Treatment Center, located at 1200 Dudley Road, Kilgore, TX)
  • HCS Main Entrance – (Walk under WHITE metal covered awning; use Main Entrance – 1st door on right).

NOTE:

  • Kilgore HSC shares the building with Allegiance Specialty Hospital.
  • Kilgore College entrance is located on the East end of the building (facing Dudley Road/FM1249), next door to East Texas Treatment Center.
  • Park only in Kilgore College Student Parking.
  • If lot is full, you must drive to another Kilgore College Student Parking area, park and walk to HSC building.
  • NO PARKING AT ALLEGIANCE SPECIALTY HOSPITAL or EAST TEXAS TREATMENT CENTER
