INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIANS ARE IN DEMAND

Employees with industrial electrical skills are in demand in East Texas.  The Kilgore College Industrial Electrical Technology Certificate course of study consists of ten courses which prepare individuals for good paying jobs in the manufacturing, industrial and mechanical environments. Skills learned during the course of study include:

  • installing and troubleshooting single and three phase AC and DC motors
  • computing circuit sizes
  • understanding feeders and equipment for motors
  • reading schematics
  • identifying industrial switches and pilot devices
  • installing wiring devices and grounding methods
  • bending of conduit
  • calculating the size of conductors, boxes, raceways and fault current

The cost is approximately $3,500.  At the completion of the ten-course training sequence of 356-credit hours, graduates will be qualified to enter the job marketplace as an apprentice working under the direction of a licensed electrician.

ELPT 1057 Industrial Wiring (64 hours)
ELPT 1003 Programmable Logic Controllers (24 hours)
EECT 2043 Troubleshooting Electrical Systems (24 hours)
Required Prerequisites:

ELPT 1015 - Electrical Calculations (16 hours)
HYDR 1091 - Hydraulics School (16 hours)
DFTG 1023 - Electrical Blueprint Reading (18 hours)
* Individuals who successfully complete all courses in this certificate will be eligible to receive a Marketable Skills Achievement Award.
