Available Tests
ACCUPLACER - Computerized test approved for Texas Success Initiative. Pre-registration is required (a non-refundable $30 fee is assessed payable to KC prior to testing). Call to set up an appointment at least 24 hours in advance. The accuplacer exam is given on both the Kilgore and Longview campuses.
ACT - Administered on most national testing dates. Pre-registration required with ACT (a $30 fee is assessed payable to ACT by the registration deadline). Registration packets available at the Testing Center or register online at www.actstudent.org
CLEP - Pre-registration required (a $72 fee is assessed payable to CLEP a $20 fee for proctoring and $10 essay fee payable to KC at the time of registration). See KC catalog for the list of CLEP exams for which KC awards credit. Given on the Kilgore campus ONLY.
Correspondence - A $20 Proctoring fee.
GED - Pre-registration is required with a $60 non-refundable test fee. Given on both the Kilgore and Longview campuses.
GED Retest - A $15/ per test fee.
GED Transcript - A $5 transcript fee.
NET - Pre-registration is required with a $50 non-refundable fee assessed payable to KC. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms are available at www.kilgore.edu/testing.asp
Testing on main campus for students applying to RN program only.
QUICK THEA (formerly the Quick TASP) - Administered monthly during each semester on the Kilgore campus only-see schedule for dates. A $49 fee is assessed. Students needing accommodations should take the THEA Saturday exam or ACCUPLACER test.
SAT - A $43.00 fee. Administered on most national testing dates. Pre-registration required. Online registration preferred.
THEA (formerly TASP) - Administered on most statewide dates. Pre-registration required (a $29 fee is assessed payable to Evaluations Pearson Group by the registration deadline). Registration packets are available at the Testing Center or by Internet at www.thea.nesinc.com
VCT (Virtual College of Texas) - A $20 fee.
