Introducing a NEW three-credit course for Spring 2007


Spanish for the Criminal Justice Professional

If you are a professional in Law Enforcement, Corrections, Community Supervision, or an individual interested in these areas, Kilgore College is offering a Spanish course designed
just for you.

Start your day with Spanish
The course, which offers three college credits, meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:00 to 8:50 a.m. Classes begin Wed., Jan 17, and conclude the second week of May.

Spanish designed for professionals
This isn't for travelers or casual conversations.
We use the CommandSpanish™ format,
which is geared for professionals and designed to teach you precisely what you need to know to successfully communicate with Spanish-speaking people while
on the job.

Convenient Longview Location
This course will be located at Kilgore CollegeLongview, just a few blocks from the Gregg County Courthouse and the Longview Police Department.

Low KC tuition
If you are a resident in the KC District you’ll pay just $126 for the entire semester-long course—nearly 45 clock-hours of face-to-face training. Out-of-district cost is $231. The textbook, available at the KC-Longview Bookstore, is an additional $38.25.


Earn college credit and meet state requirements.
This course provides the criminal justice professional with threesemester credit hours applicable toward an associate degree at Kilgore College. For professionals required to have Spanish as a condition of maintaining their professional license, it also meets the requirements of The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education for Spanish Language Education.

  • Miranda Warning & Waiver, Commands, Statements, Etc.

Take the next steps

  1. If you have not taken KC credit courses before
    you will need to apply. It is free and can be
    done online (www.kilgore.edu).
  2. Complete any testing requirements.
    (Testing is waived if this is the only class you
    plan to take.)
  3. Register online via Campus Connect or in
    person beginning Nov. 20.
  4. Buy your textbook.
  5. Start learning Spanish.
